Shep! is a cowboy sent from an alternative universe to explain the meaning of life. He found the only way to do this effectively was in the form of music – specifically Country BlueGrass Blues.
If you wanna singalong and win a prize here are some choruses:
Snakebite Street, Snakebite Street, snakes walk ‘round on legs and feet
Snakebite Street, Snakebite Street, don’t get bit by the people that you meet
From year to year, from day to day; from dawn to dark, from birth to grave
We are always, we are Always Heading Home
Come along, everybody come along, while the moon is shinin’ bright
Get on board, everybody get on board, we’re gonna Raise a Ruckus tonight
Everybody loves a Rockin’ Man so rock like a man!
Run to the river, as fast as you can, the river is a friend to the running man
Down the River to the Sea, down the river to the sea
Time will carry you and me, down the river to the sea
Make sure you check out the new website for the live footage being filmed tonight at the Grey lady at www.shepmusic.com
Grounded in the folk storytelling tradition and in the spirit of singer- songwriters such as Richard Thompson and John Martyn, Dan Sumner sings about love, politics, murder and all that lies in between. He originally cut his teeth on the London folk scene and has since gone on to hone a unique style fusing his folk roots with elements of jazz, blues and rock.
Since the release of his first single, Sing me a lullaby, which featured on the Big Chill’s album, Busking for solaraid, Dan has released several EPs, the most recent being 2015’s Old Haunts, and has also performed live extensively around the UK and Europe supporting the likes of Dave Swarbrick (Fairport Convention) and playing at festivals such as the Big Chill. His most recent performance has been on the Ayala Show, broadcast on Irish TV in February/March 2016.
The Way we did and Old Haunts are available to buy on iTunes and Amazon mp3.
“Old Haunts is built on sparse, hand-picked acoustics that echo the more fragile retreats of Richard Thompson…reminiscent of the salty seaside sting delivered by British Sea Power”

James Medhurst has been in love with music since he got his first guitar at the age of 8 and intends to keep playing all the way up to 80.
After fronting the pop punk band Wayside Kings he has now decided to take his acoustic guitar in one hand, a cup of tea in the other, and explore a solo career.
James’ style is mostly taken from the American alternative scene. His influences range from Counting crows, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory to Incubus, which he uses to fuse his own take of soulful pop rock.
His aim is to create a catalogue of uplifting songs that reflect the way he see the world.

Martin Emmons: brings a wonderfully quirky feel to the trio with clever jazzy sounds that fit seamlessly and complement the songs so well. He is also well known as lead guitar and main song writer with the band, Witchdoctor.
Sherrie Tappenden: writes the deeply personal lyrics and melodies which add a unique vocal line to complete their sound with a voice that has been likened to both Sandy Denny and Beth Gibbons.
