Josh Renton is a performing songwriter based in Brighton. After having been frontman for Clockworks, and having spent 2014/15 writing and co-writing for other artists, he's stepping out on his own as a solo performer.
Fusing a love of Pop, Country and Americana, his sound focuses on sharp, earworm melodies; heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics and soaring choruses. Debut tracks, ‘Where The River Goes’ & ‘Lost My Way', as well as new single, ‘I Want You To Stay’ are available now on iTunes, Apple Music & Spotify.
My name is Hamish Donald; I am 16 years old and I am a singer songwriter from Sevenoaks. I play a few instruments but my main instrument is guitar. I took up the guitar about 4 years ago, however I have been singing for as long as I remember. I have only recently started to write my own songs as before I only really focused on covers. I am now focusing more on writing and I am making progress. Performing is what I most enjoy and want to carry on performing as much as I can. The aim is to carry on writing and performing and see how things go.
I’ve been singing and playing the piano since I was about 4 years old although stopped official training not long after I was 15. I wrote my first song at 11 years old and have been writing ever since. I try to create songs that reflect true emotions while focusing on lyrical meaning. I’ve taken inspiration from Jazz and Soul genres with influencers such as Amy Winehouse and Jorja Smith, but also find the emotional purity of reggae satisfying and also something I’d like to incorporate into my music. Although mellow and basic, I would like to create a more dense sound in future, using a wider variety of instruments.
I have been singing since a very young age and have always had a passion for music. The genres I sing are pop/acoustic, country and musical theatre. I graduated from Dance Academy in 2014 and since then have gone on to make my own music video with my original song 'Jealousy', I have performed in many venues, some to name are 'The Indigo' at 'The O2', 'Her Royal Majesty's theatre' and 'The Orchid'. I have now finished writing my first album called 'My Roots' and have been promoting that at many festivals and venues locally. I have had radio play and song writing is another skill set of mine. My album is available to buy on itunes, spotify and amazon.
