Headline Act: The Last Drones

'The Last Drones' duo was formed in 2009 by guitarist Matt Read & vocalist Jon Murray. After a gap of fifteen years from their first meeting as writers The Last Drones have combined to offer both lyrically & musically an original & unusual musical style. Matt's percussive and intricate guitar parts combine with Jon's distinctive vocals to create an emotionally driven & dramatic sound. Although they have many musical influences they see their music as the product of living in the moment, which they were lucky enough to capture together as friends and creative partners.

I am currently working with producers on my songs, ultimately working on producing a five track EP album; my main goal is to gain representation through a record label, so that I can release my music, to have a marketing plan to go with this, and to get songs released and on the radio. I have had songs played through internet radio stations; I also have a myspace site, among other promotional tool sites, which are updated regularly and are listed below. At this present time I have been asked to sing for functions, pubs and other music venues, performing my own material and covers. I perform in pubs, festivals and venues locally at present, and have been promoting the release of the single 'Travelling,' produced by Forbes Coleman (FC Music Project). This is now available from ITunes, and other downloadable sources. I will be promoting my next single ‘Freefalling’ once available. My aim will again, be to promote this single through radio play; and it will be made available to buy online. I will soon be working on my next project which is to complete and make available for download a 5 track EP of my music.

Along with producing a five track EP, I have been recording an acoustic album, to sell at gigs. The idea of this album is that it is our live performance sound. This may appeal to anyone who prefers the acoustic, folk music sound. The album ‘Freefalling’ will be made available to buy at gigs shortly.

My own experience in music and the performing arts have been varied; I have performed over the years, in shows, and my own material. The places I have performed in include: Glyndebourne Opera House, Chequers Mead, East Grinstead, Lewes Town Hall; Ireland, London and for functions, and festivals. I am currently in two duos; one of which is a cover duo, and the other I promote my own music through. At present I am in the process of creating a band to accompany me performing my own material. I hope to be performing regularly locally and nationally, showcasing my music through recitals, and further performances.

I am at present taking my final year at Brighton Institute of Modern Music studying for (BA Hons) Professional Musicianship (vocals). This course allows me to work on my professional goals as a singer-songwriter.

I have also just completed a Music Production FDA with Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne.

Chris Parris Duo (Sarah Tonin)

Sarah Tonin are an alternative rock band from south east England who are on a musical quest of discovery and self exploration. They indulge in psychedelic and progressive rock with infectious material and fresh hooks, with improvisation and funk an integral aspect of the sound. The music fuses these styles and transcends into an unheard and exciting new sound with songs for a new era.

Front man of the group, Chris Parris, brings together influences from psychedelia and space rock, giving funk driven grooves a darker edge. With lyrics exploring topics of the human condition and the mysteries and surrealness of the universe, the arrangements of the songs often take the listeners to wonderful and unexpected places.

Parris and Marcus Chapman are the creative driving force behind the band, recording and producing their debut album 'Spinning Chaos'. Chapman has been playing piano most of his life and is an experienced music producer. He crafts magical sounds bringing out different colours in various sections of their songs. He has mean organ tones, beautiful piano parts and his hypnotic, progressive synth solos leave audiences breathless.

The band's killer rhythm section is incredibly talented and versatile Jez Palmer on drums and Bouncy Piper on the bass who has an amazing natural talent for plucking, slapping and laying down a solid groove. Their immense, jaw dropping sound gets the crowd moving every time at festival stages and venues across the south. Sarah Tonin are currently working on new material for their second studio album and are psyched about the future ahead, having already performed at the spring Equinox at Stonehenge on 19th March 2018, as well as confirmed slots at Small World, Live on BBC Radio Kent, Summer Stonehenge Free Festival, Sol Party and Green Gathering for this year. After performing to nearly 2000 people at last years Local & Live in Calverley Park and putting on a tremendous show the band are certainly ready for larger audiences.

Ben Jones and The Rifle Volunteers

Ben Jones and The Rifle Volunteers formed in 2011 out of the embers of Kent band, The Lovedays. Ben found himself with a plethora of new songs, but no band with which to execute these new pop nuggets, so went ahead and recorded two solo albums, "Echobox" and "Kaleidoscope". Though rich in arrangements, with no gunslingers to play the songs live with, the head scratching and pacing up and down began. A chance meeting with Jonathan Llewellyn-Hurst changed everything for the better. With a mandate from him to go forth and form a band with him on drums was the catalyst needed to put into place the new outfit.

Completed by Josh Roots on Piano, John Bowles on guitar, Craig Ferguson on bass and Maxine Kerr on second vocal and guitar, The Rifle Volunteers, so named after a pub in Maidstone, are coming to electrify your soul with their own quirky brand of power pop and Rock 'n' Roll. Taking influence from sources as lauded as The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Who and less obvious as Gilbert O' Sullivan, Weather Report and Bruce Hornsby, The Rifle Volunteers aim to create a musical melting pot to have you tapping your feet and feeling the sentiment.
